Tesla’s Chinese rival EV manufacturer, BYD, has launched their first ever supercar EV, Yangwang U9.

The high-performance EV supercar is priced at 1.68 million Yuan (roughly $234,000) and plans to take on global car manufacturers like Ferrari and Lamborghini.

However, not many supercars can groove like the Yangwang U9.

The Yangwang Y9 supercar EV will launch in China first before making its way onto the global market.

Unlike other supercars, the BYD Yangwang Y9 comes equipped with unique features such as the ability to jump, shake, and dance to four different ‘dance mode’ songs.

It also comes with self-parking capabilities thanks to its advanced driver-assistance system, DiPilot ADAS.

The car is not just limited to smart features as it boasts an impressive 1,287 horsepower with a max speed of 309 km/h.

With 1,200 lb-ft of torque, the U9 can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in a mere 2.36 seconds.

This speed makes the BYD Yangwang capable of outperforming iconic supercars like the Ferrari SF90, Bugatti Chiron, and Porsche 911 Turbo S.

According to the EV maker, the Yangwang Y9 has a range of up to 465 km on a single charge.

The BYD supercar even looks like a modern all-electric McLaren.

While it isn’t a household name, the Chinese car maker is the biggest EV seller globally, overtaking Tesla in the last quarter of 2023.

While the company is known for making affordable EVs, it also releases luxury models under the Yangwang and Fang Cheng Bao brands.

China is no stranger to innovation in the automotive industry.

One could even say that they are challenging the static industry to take risks again.

Even recently, the country’s first flying car, Xpeng X2 completed a test flight across an urban city.
