The Ford Maverick name has been a huge success since its revival.

The return of the Maverick moniker was announced in June 2021.

Its reincarnation as a light-duty truck has seen the name become very popular again.

And now, you can pick one up for under $30,000.

Maverick lives once more – albeit in a different form

The Maverick name was first introduced by the Blue Oval brand in 1970.

In fact, the model started out as a compact car, designed to combat the fuel crisis of the 1970s.

2021 saw the Maverick name revived – albeit in a completely different form.

It was introduced as the smallest pick-up truck in the Ford range.

The US automaker also announced that the Maverick would come with a 2.5-liter, inline-four hybrid engine.

Company CEO Jim Farley, in July 2023, made a surprise announcement regarding the Maverick.

He stated that 56 percent of buyers had selected the hybrid powertrain over the standard 2.0-liter engine.

This is despite the hybrid powertrain being $1,500 more expensive.

The US brand has clearly understood the market for the smaller pick-up truck, as the Maverick has been very popular.

In fact, it sold over 130,000 units in 2024 alone – with many customers switching to the affordable truck.

You can now get a Maverick…for under $30,000?

Recently, a Blue Oval dealership released a TikTok video that quickly went viral.

Jess Ford Group, based in Washington state, shared a video about a company sales event.

The promotion in question is called the ‘From America, For America, Employee Pricing Sales Event.’

This means the company is willing to offer an employee discount to any US shopper.

The lady in the video explains how heavily discounted the employee prices can be for shoppers.

“You can get, with employee pricing, a Ford Maverick, brand new off the lot, for under 30 grand,” she explains.

There’s always a catch

With a deal like this, you’re probably wondering what the catch is. Well, there are a couple.

For one thing, while the automaker is offering the deal, there’s still a lot of dealer autonomy.

In essence, individual dealerships can still charge markups on their trucks if they so desire.

Furthermore, many people are viewing this as a cynical attempt to move 2024 stock.

Given the year that we are in, most dealerships need to clear out space for 2025 inventory.

Therefore, many people have criticized the maker for thinly disguising its attempt to simply move old units.

That being said, there could still be plenty of great deals to be found with your dealer.

In particular, if you’re looking to snag a pick-up truck, this could be the sales event for you.
