The latest video from MrBeast threatened to make him bankrupt.

But the outcome has surprised everyone.

The YouTuber pledged to pay a man $10,000 for every day he could live alone in a grocery store.

What sounded like a simple enough challenge turned out to be much harder than anticipated.

And an incident involving a forklift and an inflatable pool would ultimately save MrBeast’s bank account.

Earlier this year MrBeast bought a fully-stocked grocery store.

The world’s biggest YouTuber challenged a fan called Alex to live in the store for as long as he wanted, promising to give him $10,000 for every day he stayed inside.

Alex wasn’t allowed to leave or contact with the outside world.

He would also have to ‘earn’ his money, trading MrBeast $10,000 worth of items from the store for his cash.

At first, things were pretty easy.

In fact, MrBeast worried that he had ‘messed up’.

Alex would spend his days choosing what items to ‘sell’, and sorting out his cash which was delivered daily in $1 bills.

He started with things like dog food and televisions, then fresh produce and diapers.

All of this was later donated to charity.

One of the most surprising ways he earned $10,000 was from the greeting cards section alone.

Alex cooked his meals in the camping department of the store and made a bed out of piles of toilet paper.

At the beginning of the challenge, he’d pledged to win at least $1 million.

But by day 30, after a visit from his wife and kids, he started to crack.

The next day the electricity ran out, leaving him to ring up frozen food and meat in the dark to earn his next $10,000.

He set up a huge inflatable swimming pool he found in the back and promptly punctured it with the store’s forklift.

The store completely flooded, wetting some of Alex’s money and ruining his toilet paper bed.

The next day MrBeast sent a robot to deliver the cash instead of someone from his team.

This pushed the lonely Alex over the edge and he decided to leave.

In the end, Alex walked away with $450,000.

That’s a pretty good fee for essentially packing up MrBeast’s grocery store for 45 days.

But, as always, the internet was certain they could have done better.

“Bro, I did four and a half years in prison; I would have bankrupted MrBeast,” one commenter said.

“My grandkids would have been born there,” another said.
