A rare Maybach 62 – a genuine classic – was snapped up at an auction for just $44,000.

For those not familiar with the market, that’s a real bargain.

Originally priced at over $500,000, this purchase was probably one of the best deals ever made on such a luxurious car.

Most importantly, Tyler Hoover showed us why it is actually a great family car – and he wasn’t wrong.

YouTuber bought Maybach 62 for cheap at auction

While the car is known for its incredible comfort and luxurious features, this low valuation is a result of failed sales numbers.

Tyler shared his experience with the car on YouTube through his channel Hoovies Garage.

The Maybach 62 was built in 2004 and came loaded with modern tech, like a light bar and high-end interior features.

He explained that while it was cheap, the car was still in great condition, even with over 100,000 miles on it.

It even included solar-powered accessories that worked when the car was off.

What made this car even more special was the rare $50,000 panoramic solar roof.

It was a steal at that price to say the least, much like this Audi RS7 bought at a salvage auction.

The interior was opulent, with reclining seats, a desk, and a partition.

Families could use this partition to let kids play or make noise without bothering the driver.

Or just to get some peace, am I right, parents?

The car is also longer than most SUVs, meaning that you get unmatched space and comfort.

The classic car was a big failure

The Maybach 62 wasn’t exactly a massive success.

In fact, the company wanted to sell 2000 units of the car annually but could only sell around 2000 units in total.

Tyler explained that a big reason for its failure was its looks, which some deemed to be ‘cheap’.

At the auction, the car struggled to attract high bids, barely breaking the $40,000 mark.

Still, Hoover was thrilled with his purchase.

It just shows how luxury and value can sometimes come together in surprising ways.
