Meet Thomas ‘Ed’ Davis, a 101-year-old Texas veteran who took the drivers’ license renewal test just to see if he could pass.
A WWII and Korean War veteran, Davis is also quite sharp for his age.
In Texas, if you are 85 years or older, you need to renew your license every two years.
Now, the 101-year-old veteran is making headlines for renewing his license at that age.

At present, David drives a Chevy Silverado, a GMT800 pickup truck.
Back in his heyday, he used to drive trucks for work at his construction business.
“Chevy’s have always been my favorite of the trucks,” Davis said.
When asked what he uses his car for these days, he said: “Oh, well, I went and got some lumber yesterday.”
This kind of heartwarming story always brings a tear to the eye.
Just recently, we also saw an 80-year-old woman gift her 25-year-old manual RX-7 to Mazda after surrendering her license.
Driving test
It seems taking the driver’s license renewal test wasn’t much of a challenge for David.
“Wasn’t much to it, really,” said Davis.
“I filled out a form, they held up a card and said, ‘Can you read that?’ I could read it, so there I was.” he added.
It seems reading road signs is the only skill required to drive a car on public roads.
As he took the news team on a ride, David asked: “Are y’all scared back there?”
Surprisingly, David is not the oldest member of his family to renew his license.
His older brother also took the test at the age of 103.
According to David, he drives ‘quite a bit under’ the speed limit.
His driving record is also pretty spotless other than the occasional speeding ticket, but that was a long time ago.
