Le PDG de Bugatti réagit à l'affirmation d'Elon Musk selon laquelle la Tesla Roadster passera de 0 à 60 miles par heure en moins d'une seconde.

But can it fly a little?
  • The car will be a Tesla/SpaceX collab
  • Tesla is aiming to ship the car in 2025
  • The car might include thrusters courtesy of SpaceX

Elon Musk’s claims about the new Tesla Roadster have raised a few eyebrows.

Even Bugatti’s CEO had something to say about the billionaire’s claim that the car can go 0-to-60 mph in a second.

Recently, Musk posted on X that they had radically increased the design goals for the new Tesla Roadster.

Musk also tweeted that the Tesla Roadster will be a “Tesla/SpaceX collab.”

However, the biggest improvement among the new changes was that the Tesla Roadster would accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in less than one second — which would be a world record.

At least now the Roadster will be known for something other than being thrown into space.

While replying to a Facebook comment, Bugatti Rimac CEO Mate Rimac was also asked what he thought of the new Tesla Roadster

The commenter specifically asked what he thought of Elon Musk’s claim of the vehicle going from 0-60 in under one second.

According to Rimac, the claim, while a bit unbelievable, is possible to achieve.

“It is possible with thrusters. We did the simulation”, said Rimac.

Rimac might have been referring to Musk’s previous claim that the Tesla Roadster would include 10 small thrusters around the car.

Musk had tweeted about the thrusters back in 2018 as part of the Tesla/SpaceX collab.

“SpaceX option package for new Tesla Roadster will include ~10 small rocket thrusters arranged seamlessly around the car. These rocket engines dramatically improve acceleration, top speed, braking & cornering. Maybe they will even allow a Tesla to fly….” Musk had tweeted.

However, don’t expect the new Roadster to fly off the supply lines.

Musk has been known to be quite optimistic with his deadlines and that usually ends up with delays and broken expectations.

However, the company expects to ship the car in 2025, so we might get to see a rocket-thruster Tesla Roadster by the end of next year.
