Royals give inside look at King Charles private jet, it’s literally fit for a king

We’ve just been offered a rare look into the plane of King Charles.
The royal family is famously private.
But the king is loosening up a bit as he embarks on a high-profile tour of Kenya.
Of course, we knew Charles and his wife Camilla wouldn’t fly economy like the rest of us.
But we had no idea just how elite their method of transportation was.

The royals use the British government’s VIP aircraft.
It’s known as the Voyager, short for the Royal Air Force Voyager.
When travelling, the royals have a whole fleet of aircraft to choose from.
Much like a less rich celebrity would choose which car they felt like driving that day, or we might choose what socks to wear.
These planes can also be used for state business by the prime minister and members of the government.
The couple are making their first visit of their reign to a Commonwealth nation.
Charles and Camilla will be jetting all over Kenya.
Their itinerary includes a glamorous state banquet in Nairobi and popping in at the naval base in Mombasa.
This plane’s main function is as an aerial refuelling tanker, able to dispense fuel to another aircraft mid-air.
In 2016 it had a VIP revamp, making it more suitable for special guests by adding 56 brand new first-class seats.
Its exterior got a makeover in 2020, with a paint job that cost $12 million.
There are an additional 100 seats, which is useful as the royals always come with an entourage.
Flying with the royals will be their staff, government members, and a select crew of journalists and photographers.
In the post shared on the family’s official X account, we see Charles and Camilla making themselves at home in their luxurious seats.
King Charles seems to be working at his desk, using stationery emblazoned with ‘The King’.
The couple are both reading what appear to be their tour itineraries.
Either that or some seriously fancy in-flight food menus.
