The Land Rover Defender already stands out as an exceptional 4×4, but now the new ‘Defender OCTA’ is coming.

And – according to the company — it will be the most luxurious and toughest model so far.

The British automaker revealed that the 2024 Defender OCTA packs a twin-turbo mild-hybrid V8 engine under the hood.

But why the ‘OCTA’ name?

It supposedly reflects the octahedron shape of a diamond.

The shiny, unbreakable one.

The new Defender will be the first in line to wear the diamond-like OCTA badge.

It represents luxury and credibility, as well as the diamond’s toughness, if you didn’t get the gist of it yet.

“Reflecting the vehicle’s luxury credentials, a diamond’s octahedron shape inspires the new OCTA name – diamond being the hardest naturally occurring substance on Earth, renowned for its rarity,” Land Rover said.

Likewise, future flagship models will come with the shiny new badge too.

We all know how capable the Defender already is, as it can even tow large trucks by itself.

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) says the new OCTA will be much better.

“Defender has been synonymous with all-terrain capability, with a bloodline tracing back to the Series 1 in 1948. New Defender OCTA will take this to another level, with a dramatic stance, innovative technology, and unparalleled attention to detail,” Defender Managing Director Mark Cameron said.

Since all technical details (except the engine type) are under wraps, this reveal is like a trailer.

Although, the final picture might be quite interesting as the Defender is a highly sought-after 4×4 SUV.

Speaking of SUVs, more people are getting 4×4 SUVs every day.

Why wouldn’t they? 4×4 vehicles are great for offroading, and if you’re a car fanatic, there’s a solid chance you would want one, too.

JLR also highlighted the new Defender OCTA will receive a much-anticipated interior upgrade.

You know, for a more luxurious experience.

A 6D Dynamics technology is also being introduced with the 2024 OCTA model that aims to provide more comfort despite the terrain you drive it on.

More details, such as the price and full specifications, will come to light later this year when JLR makes the official announcement.
