San Diego Padres’ third baseman and shortstop, Manny Machado is a baller on an off the field.

After signing a 10-year contract with the Padres in 2019, the MLB star inked a new 11-year contract extension earlier this year worth $350 million.

That’s a hefty wedge – so what’s the 31-year-old been spending his money on?

Well, the baseball player has been married to Yainee Alonso since 2014.

If that name rings a bell, that’s because Yainee is the sister of Yonder Alonso – another professional baseball player.

Anyhow, Machado decided to splash some of his cash on an expensive and exquisite home in California.

Not in Pacific Palisades like Jennifer Lopez or in Santa Barbara County like Ellen DeGeneres, but in Coronado.

Although Manny Machado and his wife bought the property in 2019, the $10 million purchase of the house was unreported until this year.

Built in 2009, the bay-front property is known as ‘Zee Huis,’ which is Dutch for ‘Sea House’.

The property sits on almost half an acre, and it boasts views of the San Diego downtown skyline and across the harbor.

Externally, the pretty buttercream yellow property – built in nouveau-riche Dutch style – stands out along the coastline.

Another feature of the exterior of the property is a multi-car garage, which can accommodate several cars.

Internally, it boasts 11 bathrooms and eight bedrooms, four of which are in the main house, with the other four split between two other dwellings on the grounds.

With 7,300-square-feet internally, there’s plenty of room in the main living area, with a formal sitting room, kitchen, and a dining area.

The formal living room is arranged around an impressive fireplace with a large granite hearth and mantle.

The open-plan living room adjoins the gourmet kitchen, which has polished wood cabinetry and granite countertops.

As to be expected, it’s kitted out with multiple high-end appliances that would make many professional chefs jealous, such as a teppanyaki grille.

Then there’s a large, granite-covered island between the kitchen and living room serving as an informal dining area.

However, just off the kitchen is an alcove set into a curved bay window, that’s also used as an additional dining space.

Downstairs there’s three further rooms: a informal sitting room, a music room, and a games room, with a snooker table as its centerpiece.

Of the four bedrooms in the main property, the master suite is the largest.

This room’s not only beautifully appointed, but it also boasts views across the bay to San Diego’s skyline from the large windows.

The master ensuite is equally impressive, with dark wood cabinetry, marble countertops, double sinks, a tiled floor, and recess lighting.

Saving the best till last, the expansive curved infinity pool is the standout feature of the property.

Lying at the edge of the property, the swimming pool has a rock-lined rim connecting to the shoreline – the ideal place for Manny Machado to chill out after a game.
