This Uber driver tried to modify his Hyundai Xcent to make it look like a Tesla.

And the end result is not exactly – how can we put it nicely – worthy of a car museum.

More importantly, we’re not sure that’s what the Uber driver had in mind when he set out to modify his car.

The idea, presumably, was to make the car look like a Model 3, since the Xcent is technically a small sedan.

Mind you, the Xcent is technically based on a i10, so in a way it could vaguely look like a Model Y, too.

Either way, the first thing that stands out is the widebody kit, with custom lights, blacked out taillights and massive wheel arches.

The wing mirrors are also aftermarket, and the gold tone wheels complete the package.

The interior of the customized Hyundai Xcent

Videos and images of the car were shared to Instagram by Bhuvan Chowdhary, and thanks to his clip, we also have a chance to take a look at the interior.

The cabin features black panels with – fake – carbon accents and yellow upholstery.

There are also several custom gauges for temperature, RPM and battery.

It isn’t what we’d call subtle.

Especially when you look at the weird thing, which definitely looks like a water bottle, that’s set on top of the gearbox.

The latest addition to a long list of Tesla wannabe vehicles

People regularly customize their cars to look like Teslas.

Sometimes they’re based on something else, with mixed results.

But the best ones are usually built almost from scratch, that’s the case with most DIY Cybertrucks, and that’s definitely the case with the wooden Cybertruck that even Elon Musk likes.
