Tennis legend Rafael Nadal has dominated men’s tennis for the past decade with more than 90 titles, including an all-time record 22 Grand Slams.

He is also a watch collector.

And as a brand ambassador for Richard Mille, he gets to wear any model he wants.

So, in no particular order, let’s take a deep dive inside Rafael Nadal’s crazy Richard Mille collection.

5. Richard Mille RM 27-04 – $1,050,000

This is Rafa’s latest RM and also one of the most impressive.

The case, for example, is made using a carbon fiber-based composite material that Richard Mille has invented and patented.

Mind you, the coolest part of the watch is probably the steel structure on the dial, inspired by a tennis racket.

The watch only weighs 30 grams and Rafa Nadal is often seen wearing it while he plays.

Only 50 units were made, with a retail price of $1,050,000.

4. Richard Mille RM 35-02 – $150,000

The RM 35-02 was designed by Richard Mille because customers wanted a self-winding model with crazy colors.

The key feature of the watch, in terms of design, is the bright red case made from actual quartz.

A carbon fiber model is also available.

This is – or rather was – one of RM’s least expensive watches, with a retail price of around $150,000.

Now the price has more than doubled, and you can’t find one under $350,000.

3. Richard Mille RM 35-03 – $220,000

Based on the 35-02, this timepiece introduces a butterfly rotor that you can activate with a little pusher on the left-hand side of the case.

It’s available in two versions: blue quartz case with a white rubber strap or white quartz with a blue rubber strap.

It was originally priced at $220,000 but it’s sold out.

Be prepared to spend at least $800,000 if you want one.

2. Richard Mille RM 27 – $500,000

Some say this is the most important Rafa Nadal RM ever simply because it was the first.

It was launched in 2010 and it kick-started the collaboration.

Design-wise, the complexity of the tourbillon dial offsets the simplicity of its carbo-titanium construction and the black rubber strap.

RM only manufactured 50 pieces, priced at $500,000 when it was new.

It is very difficult to find one in the secondary market these days, and therefore very expensive.

And when you do find one, it is often listed with a ‘price upon request‘ label – which spells trouble.

1. Richard Mille 27-03 – $725,000

The case on the RM 27-03 is mad.

It is made of the same type of quartz material that RM patented but finished with the colors of the Spanish flag in honor of Nadal.

The sharp bridges of the tourbillon are designed to look like the forward-facing head of a bull, Nadal’s logo as well as the symbol of Spain.

Only 50 units available, priced at $725,000.
