The Switzerland government has treated itself to a brand new $177 million private jet.
Only the success was short-lived as it turned out the plush purchase couldn’t actually fit in the chosen aircraft hangar or even the runway.
As a result, the private plane had to be stored at a different airbase that could house its wings and nose without difficulty.
The jet boats some pretty impressive features and qualities, though, with the cabin sure to impress any plane enthusiast on the planet.

Everyone loves a private jet from world leaders to millionaires
Yes, aside from amassing exclusive car collections, celebs and the super-wealthy also love private planes. From Boeing to Gulfstream, traveling in style is loved by all.
In fact, to celebrate his 40th birthday, this millionaire entrepreneur in Ghana celebrates splurged on a private jet and a Bugatti.
However, such big purchases can also come with added prices too. One US pilot revealed the wild costs of owning a private jet including $50,000. And that’s before you can even fly the plane legally.
Switzerland officials found this out the hard way

The Swiss Government decided to purchase a new private jet – a Bombardier Global 7500, to be exact.
As you can probably gather, it wasn’t a small buy either, with the plane carrying a $117 million price-tag, around 103 million Swiss francs.
Now, this all sounds fancy – but the reality was a lot less swish. Because it turns out the jet was too big for the hangars and runway at Switzerland’s Bern airport.
The jet is simply too gigantic call Bern airport home
So, thanks to its impressive stature, the 7500 now has to call the country’s Payerne Air Base home instead.
Plus, the flashy jet is actually just too powerful for Bern airport. The runway there is too short for a plane to rise up into the sky with a full fuel tank – not ideal.
So, officials must first travel to Zurich or Geneva before boarding their state-of-the-art aircraft to reach transatlantic skies.
What makes the private jet so special?

Well, Bombardier’s Global 7500m is described as ‘The flagship for today and tomorrow’ by the company itself. If that doesn’t scream fancy, we don’t know what does.
It also has special features that can help fight jet lag, as well as plush sound and cinema systems.
And, if that wasn’t enough, it can reach a top speed of Mach .925, which is around 710MPH.
But all that power is pretty pointless if it can’t be stored with the rest of the official Swiss government aircraft.
Now, the government is waiting for the completion of a new hangar that’s big enough to house the giant flying machine.
Until then, Swiss officials will need to get themselves to either Geneva or Zurich to make long-haul trips.
It’s a hard life, right?
