If someone asked me what would be the rarest and fastest supercar in the world, then the Koenigsegg One:1 would definitely be on top of the list.
Over the years, the Swedish car manufacturer has made some of the most iconic supercars in the industry.
However, the 2015 One:1 is still the greatest masterpiece the car maker has ever produced.
The reasoning behind the Koenigsegg One:1 name is also pretty cool.
The “One:1” refers to the power-to-weight ratio, so for each kg the car weighs, it gives an equal amount of horsepower.
In total, it weighs 1360 kilograms, so the supercar’s 5-liter twin-turbo V8 engine produces 1360hp.
Even the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut, which is supposed to be the manufacturer’s fastest car, can only go up to 1,280hp on gasoline.
The astonishing 1:1 PS-to-kg curb weight ratio was the “dream” equation, previously thought to be impossible.
However, the Swedish car manufacturer made it possible when everyone thought it was unattainable.
The One:1 wound up becoming the world’s first series production megacar, with one Megawatt of power.
Unfortunately, only seven of the Koenigsegg One:1 were ever produced.
Due to this, it is one of the rarest supercars in the world.
On top of that, the car is also quite expensive with prices ranging from $5 million to $10 million.
Of course, the Swedish manufacturer is known for its expensive cars that cost upwards of millions of dollars even when bought straight from the carmaker.
The supercar is based on the Koenigsegg Agera R, which is also faster than an F1 car.
Speaking about speed, the One:1 is capable of accelerating to 0–100 km/h (0–62 mph) in 2.8 seconds.
The car also has a max speed of 440 km/h (273 mph), making it one of the fastest road-legal supercars.
