An American YouTuber and his team have modified a Chevrolet pickup truck with unique tracks, making it the world’s largest truck on tracks.

YouTuber HeavyDSparks then takes the truck out into the Utah backcountry to put it through its paces.

The video details how they fitted the tracks to the truck, including removing the tires it was already on.

Taking the truck off-road across the snowy landscape also reveals a few issues, but it certainly proves it can handle Utah’s tough snow.

Installing tracks on the Chevrolet truck is a smooth operation.

The first portion of the video shows the YouTuber and his friends installing the tracks.

Because they lack enough equipment, they lift the Chevrolet on a Kubota and then place a couple of jacks underneath the front of it.

After around a couple of hours, the tracks are on. The team also uses spacers while installing the tracks to ensure they don’t have to be removed or reinstalled.

Frustratingly, the video shows some early issues, such as oil leaks and a missing crankcase breather, around five minutes into it.

However, the truck does move on the tracks and starts to traverse the snowy landscape—even if it emits a lot of black smoke! After some more fixes, the group meets up with other YouTubers the next day with their vehicles.

These include an old dirt-racing 1978 Chevrolet Camaro, which has been heavily modified, and a genuinely insane 1988 Hummer H1 that has also been converted to use tracks.

Mechanical issues persist with the Chevrolet on tracks

Despite fixing many of the problems, the team still faces issues with the giant pickup. Modifications to the front steering have paid off, giving it a better turning circle.

However, parts are missing from the engine, which means that they have had to make parts to replace components like missing hoses.

Fast-forward to the weekend, and the truck is still having some nagging problems. But they persevere and continue to enjoy snow along with various other YouTubers.

The truck takes on some serious hill-climbing in the snow

The final portion of the video includes some serious hill-climbing with the vehicle.

On the smooth snow, the Chevrolet handles itself well, making a lot of noise but looking very impressive.

HeavyDSparks is impressed with how it handles things, but their efforts also showcase how tough it is to use tracks on what was already a very jacked-up machine.

The steering is very tight and stiff, and some screaming noises show all is not well with the pickup. Overheating rears its ugly head, and the steering appears to seize up before they eventually call it a day.
