They do say everything is bigger in Texas.

Hennessey is a company known for building vehicles that are truly extreme and the Texas-based company’s latest creation, the Mammoth 1000 6×6 TRX, is perhaps the clearest case in point.

Based on the already-massive RAM 1500 TRX, Hennessey has pushed its dimensions to the max, even taking the total wheel count up to six with the addition of a third axle.

Measuring in at just under 7.2 metres, making it Hennessey’s largest vehicle yet, this six-wheel drive behemoth’s length isn’t the only thing that makes it more imposing.

Riding even higher than a standard TRX thanks to Bilstein suspension and a set of 37-inch mud tyres wrapped around 20-inch alloys, it now stands 2.1 metres tall, and it’s wider as well at more than 2.2 metres across. Good luck parking this bad boy anywhere.

Its off-road prowess has also been improved through the addition of locking rear differentials in addition to the new suspension, while the extra 1.2 metres of length at the rear of the truck only improves on its load-hauling capacity in the tray.

Uprated front and rear bumpers round out the external upgrades, along with a dazzling array of extra LED lights.

As you’d expect from Hennessey – builders of the Venom GT, once the world’s fastest road-legal car – the Mammoth’s power figures have been boosted to match the truck’s gargantuan growth in size.

Still using the same basic 6.2-litre Hellcat V8, it’s been fitted with a larger 2.65-litre supercharger along with a high-flow intake and fuel injectors to achieve 1012hp and 969lb-ft (1314Nm).

Those increases mark a big jump of 310hp and 319lb-ft (433Nm) over the already potent RAM 1500 TRX, and Hennessey founder and CEO John Hennessey notes that turning things up this substantially was the plan from the get-go.

“Everything we do at Hennessey Performance is turned up to 11, but the Mammoth 1000 6×6 is definitely turned up to 12!” Hennessey says.

“Everything on the Mammoth 6×6 is bigger, badder, and more imposing – plus, it’s still super-fast, while being a total powerhouse off-road. It’s the undisputed king of the road.”

Priced at an eye-watering $449,950 before options, just 12 examples of the Hennessey Mammoth 6×6 are set to be produced each year, ensuring its exclusivity.

It’s not the first time Hennessey has made a six-wheeler, either, having turned its attention to the Ford F-150 Raptor and Chevrolet Silverado with the VelociRaptor 6×6 and Goliath 6×6 respectively.
