The Sky Spa at Hotel Hubertus

Hotel Hubertus in the picturesque Italian Dolomites has opened its most impressive bit of architecture yet with its floating Sky Spa.

The hotel claims the new building draws upon the theme of ‘Heaven and Hell’, as indicated by its horizontally-symmetrical architecture.

The Sky Spa hangs out over the hotel’s foyer and is connected to the main building by a large walkway.

On the top level, there are three heavenly whirlpools for you to relax in – one sitting, one standing, and one for those who might want to go nude.

On the lower level, there are two saunas that the hotel says will have you ‘sweating like hell’.

There’s also a swimming pool on the lower level where you can take in the incredible mountain views.

And if you’re wanting to stay dry, there’s a glass-fronted relaxation room to look out from as well.

However, if you’ve had enough of the hot jacuzzis and saunas, there’s a ‘cold chamber’ to cool off in too.

The hotel describes the Sky Spa as an “architectural masterpiece that literally turns the world of wellness upside down”.

We certainly can’t disagree with that.

The Sky Spa clearly isn’t the only architectural masterpiece of the hotel, either.

At the other end of the property, there’s a long floating infinity pool.

Not only does it extend out towards the mountainous view, but there’s a glass section at the bottom for you to look down through as well.

Expect to pay between €378 – €612 ($382 – $618) per night for a stay at the Hotel Hubertus depending on the size of the room you book.

Given just what amenities it has on offer, we reckon that’s pretty good value.
