Mercedes-AMG is making oversized speakers shaped like a supercar grille.

The bespoke audio system is made in partnership with iXOOST, an Italian audio company, and the price tag is honestly mind-blowing.

The massive speaker is a faithful reproduction of the front grille of the AMG GT supercar.

It even features the car’s hood vents, the iconic tailpipes, and the rear diffuser.

Even though it’s made of carbon fiber, it is extremely heavy for a speaker, tipping the scales at 15 kg (33 lbs).

Not exactly what you’d call portable.

It looks the part but it is also rather sophisticated, with one-inch tweeters and two 6-inch subwoofers.

Mercedes speakers price

Mercedes-AMG and iXOOST haven’t released any details about the price yet but rumor has it, it could cost as much as $30,000.

That’s an insane price tag but then again automakers are getting quite good at making hype-friendly things that aren’t cars.

McLaren sneakers

McLaren is now making sneakers.

The supercar manufacturer calls them the ‘HySpeedTM’ sneakers and they’re made in partnership with a company called Athletic Propulsion Labs (APL).

They’re made using APL’s patented Load ‘N Launch technology.

In simple terms, it means they’re more comfortable when jumping and running.

They’re available in five different colorways:

  • White and McLaren Orange
  • White, Black and Ombre
  • Rose, Dust and Crème
  • Energy and Metallic Silver
  • McLaren Orange

And just like their supercars, their sneakers aren’t cheap, priced at $450 a pop.

That’s expensive, no doubt, but nowhere near as expensive as Mercedes-AMG’s audio system.
