Richard Branson left some lucky passengers onboard a Delta Air Lines incredibly excited recently after gifting them a free cruise.

The Virgin Group founder gifted every Delta SkyMiles member over 18 years old on the flight from Atlanta to San Juan, Puerto Rico, the opportunity to sale on one of his ships.

To be precise, they’ve been given the chance to sail on Virgin Voyages’ Resilient Lady during the ship’s inaugural season in San Juan later this year.

To be fair, Richard Branson is no stranger to pulling eccentric stunts.

This time, though, he gifted the travelers the trip personally in celebration of Resilient Lady’s new homeport in San Juan.

“The Caribbean has been my home for many years, and I’m very excited to welcome Resilient Lady as she sails from San Juan to visit the region’s most beautiful destinations,” the British billionaire said.

“My excitement clearly couldn’t be contained, so we came up with a way to celebrate with a personal invitation and surprise for some unsuspecting guests on a Delta flight to San Juan,” he added.

The surprises started before passengers boarded the flight, when Virgin Voyages hosted a party at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport gate.

The party featured a prize wheel and all guests were invited to spin.

Prized included Delta and Virgin Atlantic flights, Virgin Hotel stays, a Virgin Voyages cruise, Delta Vacations package, and gift cards.

On social media, many users have reacted to the act of generosity.

“One day I’ll be this lucky haha,” one wrote.

“This guy is awesome on so many levels,” another commented.

“Impressive, giving back to the community,” a third posted.

Who knows, maybe those taking up the free tickets will decide to sell everything to live on a cruise ship, like this couple who said it changed their lives.
