Ironman actor Robert Downey Jr. is apparently a bona fide gearhead.
In fact, the 58-year-old Hollywood star spent the last few months secretly working on his own car show.
The first trailer for the upcoming show just dropped and it’s absolute fire.

In the trailer, Downey Jr. doesn’t beat around the bush and simply explains he’s doing the show because, well, he’s in love with cars.
He actually says as much in the trailer, going as far as to use the expression ‘gearhead’ when describing his passion for cars.
“The cars of the 60s and 70s just make your heart beat a little faster,” Downey Jr said.
“I wanted in”.
Robert Downey Jr. enlisted a team of mechanics and engineers to restore nearly every car in his car collection, which mostly consisted of great American classics from, you’ve guessed it, the 60s and 70s.
In the show, the star from Oppenheimer and The Avengers will explore new ways to preserve his cars, from biodiesel fuel to electric conversions.
At one point, Downey Jr. even said he considered replacing the V8 in one of the Corvette Stingrays from his collection with an electric unit.
Purists beware.

With the exception of the Rimac Nevera hypercar, every other car featured in the trailer is a classic.
Among others, we spotted a Volkswagen Bus, a couple of vintage Chevy Corvettes from the 60s, a Ford Mustang, a Mercedes 350 and a Chevy Camaro.
Quite the collection.
The show, which is titled Downey’s Dream Cars and co-produced by Downey Jr’s own production company, will premiere on HBO Max on June 22.
We’re certainly looking forward to watching the first episode.
