This car vlogger went viral for saying just why a $15k used Lexus is better than a Toyota – but not everyone agrees.
The cars are both made by the same company but this guy rates Lexus higher on the plush scale.
His statement has caused controversy online, with lots of people disagreeing.
Lexus. though, remains at the top of his list.

Toyota is known and love for its reliability factor by auto fans worldwide.
In fact, it’s so loved that this man so regretted selling his Supra 10 years ago that bought it back. Talk about loyalty.
One car expert even warned that you should never sell Toyota Corolla after checking out a second-hand buy.
This car vlogger, though, completely disagrees.
He says that a used Lexus is a better buy than a Toyota and caused quite the riot online
Taking to TikTok, this vlogger @carsrme claimed that: ‘If you buy a used Lexus, you’re basically paying the same price as a used Toyota’- which is quite the statement, let’s be honest.
“Show me a Toyota that’s 10 years old that has all these features and looks this good,” he went on.
In the video, he showcases a Lexus IS 300 – which to buy brand new would start at a pretty hefty $41,335.
“You can get these for, like, mid $15,000 -$18,000, which is a bargain,” Thomas explained, as long as you buy it used.
The real reason behind all of this though? The flashy features in the Lexus.
“You get all the features out of an Audi, Porsche, BMW or Mercedes and you still get the reliability of a Toyota – that’s why you buy a Lexus,” said the vlogger.
Not everyone agrees with the bold statement
Oh no, some were set against it.
In fact, social media users have quite the stance on the statement with many defending the simple Toyota.
“A Lexus is nowhere close to luxury, Toyota and Lexus are way behind other brands in tech and overall quality. I know they’re reliable, but that’s the only positive quality they have,” one commenter said.
“Don’t you need to pay higher maintenance cost and higher grade gasoline?” added another.
“Lexus is Toyota,” one user reminded us all.
And, let’s be fair, they aren’t wrong.
Lexus is pretty much Toyota
Lexus is, in fact, owned by the Toyota Motor Corporation. And according to Lexus of Tampa Bay, Lexus models were actually built mainly in Japan until 2003 – interesting right?
