It’s no secret that Elon Musk is one of the most ambitious people on the planet.
And he’s just shared proof that he’s always been this way.
Musk recently posted a link to his ‘master plans’ – one written eight years ago, and another in 2006.
They offer an interesting insight into the Tesla founder’s mind and how he’s been able to achieve some incredible feats since then.

Love him or hate him, there’s no denying Elon Musk is a genius.
And what good is a genius without a master plan?
He took to X to share his plans for Tesla that he outlined back in 2016.
In it, he had set out four ambitious goals that he aimed to achieve within ten years.
The first was to ‘create stunning solar roofs with seamlessly integrated battery storage’.
In the years since, Tesla has indeed gone on to create and sell solar roofs.
Whether they can be considered ‘stunning’ or not is in the eye of the beholder.
The second goal was to expand to cover ‘the main forms of terrestrial transport’, including SUVs, a pickup truck, heavy-duty trucks, and high passenger-density urban transport.
He’s certainly achieved half of this goal, with Tesla’s Model Y SUV being one of the best-selling cars of 2023.
Plus what he then referred to as ‘a new kind of pickup truck’ and we now know as the Cybertruck has since gone into production.
A public transport system known as Robotaxi has been hinted at, but we’ve yet to see any meaningful ‘urban transport’ emerge from Tesla’s factory.
And while he only specified terrestrial vehicles in this plan, Musk has gone on to achieve extra-terrestrial feats too with Space X.
There is even talk of a Space X and Tesla collaboration that could see a Tesla Roadster being released as a flying car.
The third point in his plan was to further Tesla’s autonomous driving software.
Tesla vehicles do not offer fully autonomous driving capabilities yet, but the company is making progress.
Since this plan was written, Musk has made it mandatory for all new Teslas to come with Full Self-Driving (FSD) installed.
All new buyers will also soon reportedly have to take a test drive with the software to increase confidence when using it.
FSD has incredible capabilities, even able to navigate a busy construction site without any human assistance.
But Musk’s last goal has yet to be achieved, and it doesn’t seem to be a priority for him anymore.
He had a vision of a ‘Tesla shared fleet’, where drivers would be able to rent out their cars for extra cash.
It would appear that Musk is a man of his word.
So when he releases his master plan for the next decade, we’ll be paying close attention.
