A YouTuber decided he could no longer be bothered to actually get out of bed to go and get coffee.

So he started ordering coffee in, but this didn’t work either because he still had to physically get out of bed to go pick up the order.

Eventually, he came up with a radical solution.

YouTuber Drew Dirksen came up with a plan to turn his bed into a drivable vehicle.

First, he modified the bed frame to turn it into something that vaguely looks like a car chassis.

After that, he gave the bed four wheels, as you do, and fitted an electric scooter at the front, which also doubles as the propulsion system.

Based on what we can see from the clip, the bed-turned-vehicle appears to be working relatively well.

And it actually looks fast, too.

As far as DIY projects go, this is not too bad at all.

We’re not sure it’s a match for other things we’ve seen in recent times, though.

People with talent and time tend to express their ability to create wild DIY projects in all kinds of ways.

The guy who gave the Toyota Supra transparent wheels springs to mind.

And the guy who built a wheelless bike also deserves a mention along with the guy who gave his bicycle triangle wheels.

And you can’t really compile a list of excellent DIY hacks without mentioning the amazing artist who can build just about any vehicle out of wood.

He even crafted a Cybertruck entirely from wood.

And lastly, while we’re on the subject of Cybertrucks, a surprising number of people actually built their own through the years.

It was first announced in 2019 and it took four years for the first delivery, so we can sort of understand their impatience.
