The Chevrolet Chevelle is one of America’s most iconic muscle cars.
First released in 1964, the Chevelle also became one of the most iconic cars of the 1960s.
Recently, one particular model from Canada started making the news.
And it’s for a very good reason as well.

O, Canada! Canadian Chevelle is a savage
Here at Supercar Blondie, we cover a lot of cars that, from a distance, just look mean.
Insane body kits. Drag tires. And wings that wouldn’t look out of place on a fighter jet.
This Chevelle is absolutely none of those things.
Despite being built by the guys at ProtouringTexas, this car is actually Canadian.
Specifically, this 1966 Chevy was originally registered in Alberta, Canada.
And from the outside, it would be easy to believe that this Chevy is extremely mild-mannered.
But pop the hood of this car and it becomes a very different story.
1966 Canadian Chevrolet chomps at the bit
Let’s start with the beating heart of this absolute muscle car beast.
The Chevelle is powered by a 427 cubic-inch Dart V8.
Oh, and it’s also twin-turbocharged, so it produces 1,700HP.
If that all wasn’t enough, the guys have also fitted a custom, 6-speed T-56 Magnum transmission from Tremec to the Chevy.
They also fitted a hydraulic clutch to be able to handle the 1,700HP output.

In the video uploaded to the ProtouringTexas YouTube channel, Eric takes it for a drive.
At normal speeds, this demonic Chevelle is surprisingly subtle and refined.
But as soon as you hit the accelerator, the world becomes a lot fuzzier.
Eric is absolutely blown away by the torque of the engine when he puts his foot down.
“Whoa! This thing is absolutely wild”, he breathlessly exclaims.
With 1,700bhp packed under the hood, this sleeper is far more powerful than any Ferrari.
This Chevelle will have any Ferrari nearby running for its life.
Frankly, this Canadian Chevrolet is a time machine that would make Dr Who jealous.
If you’ll excuse us, we’re off to try and find a Chevelle….
