After a slew of negative feedback, owners have been left confused after Cybertruck’s tonneau cover finally received some praise.
The costing, cold-weather handling and towing claims have all faced criticism.
However, it turns out that the Cybertruck’s tonneau cover actually does what it claims to do – very well.
You can see Cybertruck’s tonneau cover protecting the truck bed’s contents from water in the video below:

The couple who own the YouTube channel, Our Cyber Life, wanted to bring some balance to the Cybertruck conversation.
Their video, which was posted earlier this month, has already amassed 111K views.
During the video they retract the Cybertruck’s tonneau cover with the touch of a button – and it’s dripping wet from a rain shower.
However, aside from a few rogue drips, the contents of the truckbed are protected and stay dry.
Not convinced, the couple then go one step further.
They grab the hosepipe and blast the Cybertruck’s tonneau cover.
They use a huge amount of water at close range, from different angles for a prolonged period of time.
The liquid does not pool on the top of the cover – eliminating the possibility of a large amount dripping into the truck bed as the Cybertruck’s tonneau cover retracts.
They discover that there’s a hidden drainage system, which sees water trickle down towards the truck’s cab.
From there, it seems to drain through the Cybertruck’s frame and drip out onto the tarmac below – genius.
Despite a few errant droplets, the comments section seems to agree that the Cybertruck’s tonneau cover is doing exactly what it claimed it would.
“As a truck owner with a tonneau cover, this was a very good result for Cybertruck,” said one.
But, some thought the test had gone too far.
“It is probably waterproof according to this video and test,” they said.
“That was a little aggressive attempt to make it leak relative to nature, and it didn’t leak much at all.
“Barely a little in the corners. I’d say that’s waterproof for the most part.
“If you don’t want any water to leak, wipe it off before you open it,” they concluded.
Others with existing Cybertruck orders were simply thrilled: “Yay! Can’t wait to get mine,” one enthused.
