Finally getting hands on your dream car is a wonderful moment, and this man from the UK got his dream car that was a far stretch from exotics like a Lamborghini or a Ferrari — we’re talking about the Peugeot 205 GTI.
It wasn’t just any 205 GTI, but instead, it was a 1.9 ‘Phase 2’ GTI — specifics are critical.
What’s more, this man already owned a sizeable car collection full of supercars, sports cars, and classics.
Despite that, something was missing that he had always wanted, and it was a Peugeot.

A dream car that wasn’t a Ferrari or Lamborghini
Automotive YouTuber Mark from the channel Mark McCann Mk2 showcased the car of his dreams in a recent video, and the entirety of it was a wonderful sight.
At this point, you might be wondering what could be so special about a random 30-year-old hatchback.
If you know your cars, you’d know the Peugeot 205 GTI was truly special.
In fact, it was — and remains — one of the most iconic hot hatches even today.
Everyone has that one car they saw during their childhood and fell in love with.
For Mark, it was a 205 GTI, so after getting all the expensive rides, he decided it was time to fulfill his dream.
The 205 GTI looks like your everyday classic hatch, but that’s also its most appealing feature.
Enthusiasts love it, and even billionaires like Bernard Arnault drive one.
Arnault was even denied entry to his own office because he was driving this French hatch, by the way.
Rowan Atkinson’s garage also has one of these — and mind you, these billionaires have stacked garages brimming with luxury vehicles and supercars.
Why the Peugeot 205 GTI was so iconic
Anyway, the YouTuber who got his dream car started scouring online until he found the exact unmodified spec he wanted and finally bought it.
It was a wholesome moment, much like when Supercar Blondie gave her employee their dream car.
Although Mark found irregularities that needed fixing, older cars often required some work.
It wasn’t, however, unfixable — unlike a classic Ferrari or Lamborghini — and wouldn’t cost a lot to make it completely shiny again.
Mark proceeded to show off his latest ride to his friends and family, who also appreciated it.
This Peugeot 205 GTI is a remarkable hatchback even today, and it’s all thanks to the 1.9-liter engine that sends out 120 horsepower.
That, combined with its lightweight three-door body, makes it one of the fastest roadgoing hatches of its time.
You don’t often see one these days, but some secret garages with Ferrari and Lamborghini models like this one in London usually have a couple hiding beneath the covers.
