Koenigsegg has fired up production of the CC850 hypercar.
The exclusive 70 units will be built at the brand’s dedicated Reodor production line in Ängelholm, Sweden.
Completion is expected by late 2027.
Plus, this isn’t like any hypercar you’ve ever seen before.

The Koenigsegg CC850 hypercar
Originally unveiled at Pebble Beach in 2022 it had a planned production run of 50 units to celebrate founder Christian von Koenigsegg’s 50th birthday.
Production has since been upped to 70 due to huge demand.
However, despite its $3 million price tag, even this inflated number of examples has already sold out.
The CC850 pays homage to the first production car from Koenigsegg.
However, as reflective as it is, it’s integrating modern performance and technology like we’ve never seen before.
The groundbreaking technology
The USP of the CC850 has to be the Engage Shift System (ESS).
It’s a unique transmission that functions as both a nine-speed automatic and a six-speed manual complete with a clutch pedal and gated shifter.
The shifter, emblazoned with a Swedish flag, provides real manual engagement – including stalling simulation if the clutch is mishandled and engaged too abruptly.
Other under-the-hood details include a twin-turbo 5.0L V8 engine that packs 1,385 HP on E85 fuel (1,185 HP on standard gasoline) and 1,020 lb-ft of torque.
To balance the power-to-weight ratio, it’s relatively lightweight at 3,047 lbs due to the extensive use of carbon fiber and other lightweight materials.
Each example will have two weeks exclusively dedicated to its build, signposting the Swedish supercar brand’s meticulous attention to detail.
However, having previously only produced three or four cars in its first year, it’s proof that the elite and exclusive brand is growing into a prominent force in the hypercar segment.
While it won’t break any speed records, it’s a technical tour de force that’s pushing the boundaries of automotive engineering.
