A man in Beijing, China spent six years secretly working on a ‘mountaintop mansion’ on top of a skyscraper.
In life, we all need some hobbies or projects to keep us busy, and this seems like the perfect example of it.
Professor Zhang Lin reportedly spent some six years secretly working on the project without anyone catching on.

Lin managed to build such an amazing ‘mountaintop mansion’ without anyone being none the wiser for six years.
We have seen many mansions so far, each one bigger than the last.
But in terms of creativity, this one takes the cake.
However, it was only inevitable that people started to catch on to what was really going on top of the skyscraper.
The building residents started to get suspicious when the construction started to cause leaks and cracks on the bottom floors.
The damage was due to the strain generated by the extra weight of the ‘mountaintop mansion.’
Eventually, Zhang Lin had to add metal supports to the side of his penthouse to keep it from collapsing.
Lin had been secretly carrying materials and tools in the building’s elevator, which caused suspiciously long waiting times for other people.
In terms of square footage, the ‘mountaintop mansion’ was roughly the size of two basketball courts.
The structure resembled a mountaintop hill and it even had a swimming pool and a vineyard.
This particular two-story penthouse could even put famous spas and hotels to shame.
The ‘mountaintop mansion’ on top of the skyscraper was so big that it could even be seen from satellite images.
The residents finally caught on, when a curious drone operator took some clear images of the penthouse.
Unfortunately, authorities finally took action in 2010, due to the illegal construction and ordered Lin to take it down completely within two weeks.
In the end, such a beautiful masterpiece had to be taken down and it took workers a few years to do so.
