Porsche is one of the most well-known and respected car brands in the world.

However, like many car brands, the German giant has shifted towards EV production.

Their EV marque, the Taycan, has been released to widespread praise.

And one YouTuber has been impressed by the savings from owning one.

Porsche Taycan: New era for Stuttgart brand?

The Porsche Taycan was first unveiled at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show.

When it was announced, it was met with a lot of excitement and anticipation.

And it turned out to be well warranted and justified.

Porsche’s all-electric supercar is powered by an all-electric, all-wheel drive drivetrain.

The base Taycan produces a grand total of 402bhp.

The combination of electric motors come together to produce a truly brilliant car.

And one YouTuber has been very impressed with his own Taycan.

YouTuber extremely impressed with Taycan savings

The YouTube channel TABonTV recently released a video about the Porsche Taycan.

In it, the presenter explains that he has owned his personal Taycan for around one year.

He first explains that, when he was first looking at the Taycan, he went through a lot of options.

This is true – Porsche is known for offering a lot of different configurations and options for their cars.

The presenter explains that he took out a 36-month contract with Porsche at 6.5 percent APR.

That roughly translates to around $2,000 per month for the Taycan.

After crunching the numbers, the presenter explains that, even with price increases, there is still good value.

He explains that the world for EV cars today is very different to when he first ordered the car.

The presenter then gets down to the real numbers – the running costs.

Because the car is an EV, there is zero road tax – which is always good.

He explains that the Taycan doesn’t need a service for another year.

However, he believes it to cost around $700-800.

He humorously quips if that is ‘simply emptying the ashtray.”

The presenter explains, in an important caveat, that he gets free charging at work.

However, he has only spent around $200 in the year for charging his Taycan.

A number that he remarks to be ‘pretty impressive.’

He concludes the video by saying that his Taycan has been ‘very cost-effective indeed.’
