A British tractor has just gone under the hammer and sold for the hefty price of $270,000.
The farm vehicle in question is a restored 1982 County 1474 tractor. This bright blue vintage machine certainly looks mighty impressive, but is it worth the price of a new Lamborghini?
The Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica has a starting price of $213,000.
We don’t know exactly why this ‘short nose’ County stole the show but Oliver Godfrey, head of the machinery department at UK auction house Cheffins, told Farmers Weekly: “The market is alive and well – in fact, it is thriving – as collectors still have cash in the bank which they want to invest in something tangible.

“It appears that at the moment, the market’s bets are mainly focused on Ford variants, such as County and Roadless, which are seeing double-digit price growth year-on-year.”
In fact, this sale lead the 1982 County 1474 tractor to become the world’s most expensive modern classic tractor – quite an achievement in the world of farming.
Godfrey said collectors were also into the nostalgia factor.

The tractor was initially bought for about $25,000 and its new owner, Tom O’Connor, said it was long-held dream realised to be a tractor collector.
“Luckily I am now in a position in my life where I can do that,” he told the BBC.
The tractor sold way above its estimated price of about $148,000 to $172,000.
