A US$2.3 million haul of luxury cars has been discovered by police following a two-month-long investigation.
California Highway Patrol’s (CHP) Southern Division executed a search warrant in the San Fernando Valley, northwest of Los Angeles, and found 35 high-end vehicles in a backyard.
They allege the cars had been “fraudulently purchased from unsuspecting local dealerships”.

Among the cars found were an Aston Martin, a Bentley, a BMW, a Jaguar, a Land Rover, a Lexus, a Mercedes-Benz and a Porsche.
The total value of these vehicles was estimated to be in the region of $2.3 million, police said.

“The CHP Southern Division Vehicle Theft Unit’s primary mission is to investigate, arrest and prosecute criminals responsible for motor vehicle theft,” the patrol said in a Facebook post.
“Nevertheless, vehicle theft suspects are frequently involved in other criminal behaviour, including weapons possession, narcotics trafficking, and other violent crimes that impact the community.”
