Excitement surrounding the drop of the GTA VI trailer a day early after a leak has reached fever pitch.

From the drop date of the game itself through to Vice Beach updates and the finer details gamers will see during play – the trailer has provided a lot of talking points.

In fact, the GTA VI trailer from Rockstar Games has already shattered YouTube record set by MrBeast.

However, as with any game in the Grand Theft Auto series, the players are most interested in the cars.

The cars we got a peak of in the GTA VI trailer include models from Chevy, Ford, Porsche and Ferrari.

And it’s a real melting pot of nostalgic automotive culture.

There’s everything 1960s and 1970s muscle cars through to models most will fondly remember from the 1990s.

Exotic models to run-down getaway vehicles – there’s a definite uncanny valley vibe of these cars being nearly like real-life models, but not quite.

Rather, designs for the cars in GTA VI (as in previous iterations of the game) are recognizably inspired by ubiquitous models.

Acura NSX

Slightly out of focus in the left-hand image, there’s a supercar that looks a lot like a Honda Acura NSX.

Chevy Impala and Chevy El Dorado

It’s barely concealed that Rockstar’s inspiration for these cars was lowrider classics.

The pink car seems to look a lot like the Chevy Monte Carlo.

Meanwhile the Chevy Impala seems to be the inspiration for the blue.

A Chevy Tahoe is driving past.

Last of all, a green Chrysler 300 is parked in front.

Porsche 911 Cabriolet, Ferrari Testarossa, Aston Martin V12 Zagato and Dodge Challenger

There’s only a thinly veiled attempt to conceal that the blue and white cars in the image above were inspired by the modern Porsche 911 Cabriolet and the ‘80s Ferrari Testarossa.

The red car is the same that featured in GTA V, the Grotti Carbonizzare, which takes inspiration from the Aston Martin V12 Zagato.

Keep your eyes peeled for the Dodge Challenger on the side.

Chevy Camaro

Name a car more nostalgic for lovers of the 1980s than the Camero.

I’ll wait.

Used in GTA VI as shorthand for somebody doing something illegal or ill-advised.

“Only in Leonida”.

Ram 3500

The Dually seems to be inspired by the Ram 3500.

Two tires added to the rear axle of the Ram.

It appears to be filling up at the regular gas pumps – so it’s unclear if the GTA VI truck is diesel-powered.

Chyrsler 300 and Chevy C/K 1500

The bright green sedan is blatently a Chrysler 300.

The pickup is undoubtedly a Chevy C/K (aka Silverado).

The modifications and prominent stickers are pretty realistic.

Ford Crown Victoria and Chevy Tahoe

The Ford Crown Victoria has formerly been known as the Mercury Grand Marquis and the Lincoln Town Car, the Mercury Marauder and the Police Interceptor.

The Panther platform endured for decades, serving as a platform for thousands of police cruisers.

The Chevy Tahoe PPV seems to have taken up the mantle in recent years.

A copy of both made their way into the GTA VI trailer.

Chevy Chevelle

Throwing in a nostalgic cue from classic muscle cars, it draws inspiration from a number of places but seems to most resemble a Chevy Chevelle.

Chevy C/K 1500

This appears to be inspired by a single cab, stepside GMT400

All Supercar Blondie contributors undergo editorial review and fact-checking to ensure accuracy and authority in automotive journalism. After gaining her BA Hons in French and English at the University of Nottingham, Amelia embarked on a vocational diploma from the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ). This led to numerous opportunities, from interning at Vogue to being on the small team that launched Women’s Health magazine in the UK, which was named the PPA Consumer magazine of the year for three years running. As Health, Beauty and Fitness editor, Amelia personally received a Johnson & Johnson Award and was shortlisted for both PPA and BSME titles. Since then, Amelia has created content for numerous titles and brands, including the Telegraph, 111 Skin, Waitrose, Red magazine, Stylist, and Elle, as well as being Head of Content at Vitality and Editor in Chief at INLondon magazine. “My superpower is translating technical jargon about the mechanical workings of a supercar into a relatable story you’ll want to share with your friends after you’ve read it.” After joining the SB Media family as a senior journalist in September of 2023, Amelia’s role has evolved to see her heading up the SEO output of the editorial team. From researching the most ‘Google-able’ key terms to producing evergreen content - it’s been a time of hard work, growth, and success for the editorial team and the Supercar Blondie website. “I like to think of myself as a ‘method journalist’. In other words: I live and breathe whatever I am writing about. When writing about fitness, I trained as a personal trainer, and as a beauty editor, I completed an ‘expert’ in scent diploma with the Fragrance Foundation. “During my tenure at Supercar Blondie, however, I did something I never thought possible: I passed my driving test at the age of 36. One day I’d love to train as a mechanic to better understand what happens under the hood, too. “My sweet spot is providing readers with a ‘takeaway’ (read: something new they didn’t know before) after reading every one of my stories. While I don’t claim to be an expert in the automotive world, I know the experts and bodies in the field to rely on to provide our readers with an informative and thought-provoking story every time they visit the site.”
