We all saw it coming — the new Aston Martin Vantage is different than its predecessors, for the better, of course.

It’s a brand-new car, rebuilt from scratch to accommodate a more neutral design element with surprising performance upgrades.

If there was something you didn’t like about the previous Vantage models, it was more than likely addressed.

Why is that, you ask?

This forthcoming Vantage feels like an entirely new car because the automaker put a lot of effort into making it superior.

Before we get to the specs, it’s safe to say that we might just have a straight-up competitor for the Porsche 911.

Now, this car isn’t a surprise for anyone – we already had an early look at the sports car a few months ago.

Everyone knew it would be a drastic upgrade with a new design and better performance.

But the question is — how much better?

The AMG-powered 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine in the Aston Martin Vantage produces a whopping 656 horsepower.

That’s a massive 153 hp upgrade from the tire-smoking engine.

So, how does it get all that extra performance?

Surely, the engine and turbos had some serious upgrades.

But that isn’t solely responsible for the extra horses.

It’s certainly a courtesy of the redesigned aluminum chassis, which we’ve seen before.

The new chassis not only contributes towards a more neutral design but also helps keep everything together.

On top of that, it still has a rear wheel drive thing going on.

The British automaker has been quite busy recently, as it is also working on a new flagship car with a V12 engine.

Paired with 21-inch Michelin Pilot Sport tires, it’s a really shiny package that’s also super fast.

If you step inside the sports car, you will see an electronic power steering, but nothing like the steer-by-wire system in Teslas.

The rest of the interior, inspired by the Aston Martin DB12, ditches everything it used to feature and offers a completely new look.

Put simply, it has physical knobs and switches instead of touch controls with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

And yes, it’s wireless.

The latest Aston Martin Vantage undoubtedly seems like a new car with an old moniker, but it’s certainly a show of good faith from the British automaker.
