Toyota has teased a mystery EV pickup truck, and it could take down the Tesla Cybertruck.

The company previously unveiled its electric pickup – the EPU concept – but this new teaser could be set to rock the EV world.

The news came at a European media event where new vehicles were launched for the upcoming year.

The silhouette prompted minds to run wild and imagine the concept brought to life.

EV pickup trucks are on the rise and every brand is trying to get a piece of the action.

Hummer, which is known for its huge vehicles, has even launched a Hummer EV that can crabwalk – now that’s a flashy feature.

But another EV truck has also piqued auto enthusiasts’ interest – the tiny MT1 from US startup Telo.

Now, just wait until you see what Toyota has teased

Toyota is known for creating reliable vehicles that suit various budgets.

From the Supra to the Corolla the company has a variety of models under its belt.

And, to add to its fleet, it has unveiled new cars, plus a cool concept EV Pickup truck as part of its ‘6 by 2026’.

Toyota are set to give the Cybertruck a run for its money

Now, although details were kept hush-hush, you can clearly see that there is a truck on the horizon – and, knowing the advance in technology that is happening, it is certainly set to give the Cybertruck a new rival.

Detailing the planned new releases, Yoshihiro Nakata – the President of Toyota Motor Europe – said: “These next three cars will focus on enhancing customer lifestyle just as powerfully as they enhance carbon neutrality goals

Exciting, right?

He then teased even more, asking the audience: “Can you guess what they might be?”

The truck could potentially be a development of the electric concept they revealed to the world in 2023 or even a Tacoma which car lovers have praised as it even survived California wildfires.

At the time of unveiling, the EPU was revealed to have five seats and measure more than five meters long.

The concept is described by Toyota itself as having battery-operated quietness ‘accompanied by packaging with a low centre [sic] of gravity for superior handling stability and comfort’

It is also set to ‘accommodate diverse user preferences’ and appeal to people with different lifestyles – so it really could be something, right?

The news comes after Toyota officials took to the stage at the European media event – the Plenary session.

How could it compare to the Cybertruck?

Well, we all know what the Cybertruck looks like.

Its silver doors and jagged front are perfect for exploring rough terrain or even towing large capacities from A to B.

But, if this Toyota is set to enter the same space, we could be in for a heck of a race.

Are you excited? We sure are.

But until the finer details of the EV pickup truck are launched in-depth, we’ll just have to dream about the new kid about to hit the block.
