David Beckham’s ‘favorite’ supercar was actually designed by himself

David Beckham may have a stunning fleet of vehicles, but his ‘favorite’ $275,000 supercar was actually one he designed himself.

The former soccer star-turned-business mogul actually had a hand in what his stunning Maserati MC20 Fuoriserie Edition sports car would look like.

In fact, the supercar formed part of a special collaboration between Maserati and Beckham, who is a global ambassador for the brand.

The spectacular supercar eclipses the rest of his multi-million-dollar car collection – including his surprisingly humble daily runaround.

And he’s no stranger to the luxury car brand.

The football superstar actually owns two of his ‘favorite’ custom-designed Maserati MC20s via the Maserati Fuoriserie customization program.

Previously dubbed by the brand as ‘the ultimate super sports car’, its contoured aesthetics are certainly part of its appeal.

However, it’s what’s under the hood that could be the real attraction for David Beckham.

It features a twin-turbocharged 3-liter V6 engine producing over 620 horsepower with a top speed of 323 km/h (201 mph).

The punch it packs means it can get from 0-97 km/h (0-60 mph) in under three seconds.

“The MC20 is in Miami. I’ve got one in London, too. It’s a fabulous car,” he told British GQ in 2022.

“I did the Fuoriserie program with Klaus [Busse, Maserati design director], and went from a car in deep purple to slightly pink, then I went to straight black, with pink trim and pink brake calipers. That’s my favorite.”

“The London car is gunmetal gray. I’m trying to get Victoria to drive it at the moment, but I’m not having much luck. It’s a bit low, but otherwise, it’s pretty easy to drive. On a track it’s unbelievable,” he continued.

It boasts a blend of glossy and matte finishes and a head-turning black and pink color scheme – to represent a Miami sunset blending into the night – alongside black Alcantara seats with pink stitching.

It even features a personalized nameplate with a glossy-matte effect on the central tunnel where ‘For David’ is etched in aluminum.

“When I visited the Maserati factory in Modena I met a guy called Klaus, [an] amazing guy, he talked me through the whole process, we discussed what would look great and what wouldn’t,” he said.

“Sitting with him for a couple of hours configuring my MC20 was so enjoyable.

“In fact, I didn’t let on to anyone else just how enjoyable it was in case they stuck me back in there for another few hours,” he joked.

David put his blank-sheet sports car through its paces on the racetrack in Modena with a professional racing driver instructor by his side.

He later took to the road, from Modena to La Spezia.

David admitted the car ‘gets a lot of attention’ in public – not unlike its famous owner and his equally well-known family with their mammoth combined wealth.
