A prom night in Miami ended up looking more like a car show than a school event when all the students turned up in some frankly incredible vehicles.

When you think of the prom, what comes to your mind first?

Maybe you and your friends rented tuxedos and rented a limousine before dancing in your school’s converted sports hall?

Perhaps you just got a ride from your parents?

Well, whatever you did, it’s probably not comparable to these kids in Miami, who turned up to their big night in all sorts of luxury vehicles.

This event took place in Miami and saw the kids from Northwestern High School celebrate their time in education with a night of dressing up and dancing.

The students clearly wanted to make it a night to remember, dressing up to the nines and turning up in some extravagant cars.

It must have been a night to remember from the folks who own rental car companies around the greater Miami area, too.

G-Wagens were turning up, a drop-top Porsche, fancy Mercedes SUVs, Lamborghinis, and even a Cybertruck.

Sure, it might not have been the Foundation Series Cybertruck, but not everyone can own one of them, right?

Still, the Tesla turned up with two – perhaps not official – police riders at the front, accompanied by cheerleaders.

What’s next, turning up to the prom in a flying car?

It might not be too long before we see that happen.

Miami is known as a petrolhead paradise, even their police force can be seen driving around in a Rolls-Royce from time to time.

What’s more, supercar brands like Aston Martin and Pagani are creating their own residences in the US city.

These kids clearly wanted to live up to their area’s reputation – so, their big night started with a parade of incredible cars, with the kids clearly taking as much time on their rides as their outfits.

Strangely enough, this is not exactly out of the blue for the students at Northwestern, and they’ve got a bit of a reputation for being somewhat – let’s say – extra.

This event – held at the Hilton Downton on May 11 – is far from the first time the students at this particular school have stepped out in style.

Remarking on the night, senior class vice-president Algeria Thomas said: “It’s our school’s legacy.

“Our school is known to step so you have to step.”

Tyeshia Bryant, who created the compilation video of the kids’ arrival, said: “This is the norm.

“But this class set the bar a little higher because everyone understood the assignment.”

The theme of the night was ‘Majestic Beauty – A Night of Elegance and Class’ and Thomas explained that the theme was deliberately chosen to allow for the kids to experiment and put their own mark on proceedings.

“It let people represent their definition of class and elegance,” she said.

For her part, she showed up in a BMW 5 Series.

The final word goes to Krista Gibbs, the class sponsor who is responsible for planning field trips and events.

She said: “I’ve been trying to do it big for them all year.

“Prom was just the grand finale. I wanted everything to go right.

“I was just so happy.”
