We all dream of owning an incredible car for our whole lives, and a 91-year-old veteran recently said goodbye to his one-owner Corvette sports car that he had cherished for decades.
An Instagram video has shown the veteran giving a final gesture as his Chevrolet Corvette made its way out of his home for the final time.
As you may expect, the video got a very heartwarming response from fellow users, who all felt very emotional as the car drove away.
It showed us that, for many people around the world, cars are far more than an inanimate object.

The gesture given to the one-owner Corvette sports car
In the video description, it stated that the man who owned the car was a 91-year-old veteran.
So when the sports car headed out of his driveway, the gesture he gave as it left made perfect sense.
As it pulled out of the driveway, he gave a salute to his 1966 Chevrolet Corvette.
Given his military background, it felt like a very appropriate reaction.
There was only a brief glimpse of the one-owner Corvette as it headed out.
But in its bright blue color, it looked gorgeous, with the garage behind the veteran likely its old home.
With such a fondness for the car, it is clear it was well looked after over the years.
The 1966 Corvette is an American icon
As far as American icons go, the 1966 Corvette is one of the very best.
It formed part of the C2 or second-generation of the Chevrolet sports car, introduced in 1963.
This was a massive step up from the C1 Corvette, with a new coupe body style.
The sports car had become aggressive and purposeful, with a long nose and short tail.
A whole host of engines powered the car during its production run.

The smallest was the 327ci 5.4-liter V8, while at the other end of the scale was the massive 427ci 7.0-liter L89 big-block V8 engine.
With such a performance pedigree, it’s easy to see why this veteran clung to his for so long.
Hopefully, its new owner looks after it with the same love and care that he gave it since the 1960s.
