The Aston Martin Valhalla has officially landed in Northern Ireland, with a Lightning Silver example just handed over to its new owner in Belfast.

The moment was quietly celebrated by Aston Martin Belfast on Facebook, but netizens are understandably excited.

Cars like this don’t turn up every day, especially not ones that feel this close to a race car.

Needless to say, this is a seriously special car for one very lucky owner.

Close to 1,000 horsepower

At first glance, the Valhalla doesn’t look like a typical Aston Martin.

It’s low, wide and shaped almost entirely by airflow, with deep channels carved through the body and active aero doing the hard work at speed.

Finished in Lightning Silver, this particular supercar manages to look subtle and outrageous at the same time.

The color might be understated, but its presence is anything but.

The real talking point lies under the hood.

The Valhalla uses a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 paired with a plug-in hybrid system, combining petrol and electric power for close to 1,000 horsepower.

Electric motors drive the front axle while the V8 handles the rear, giving the car all-wheel drive and some seriously clever traction.

Aston Martin claims a 0–60 mph time of around 2.5 seconds, and a top speed of 217mph.

These are numbers that put it firmly in hypercar territory.

Somehow, it can also creep along silently on electric power alone, which feels mildly ridiculous in a car that looks like this.

The Aston Martin Valhalla is extremely exclusive

Inside, it’s more race car than grand tourer.

You sit low in a carbon-fibre tub, with a compact steering wheel, digital displays and very little fluff.

The design is very purposeful, and clearly built around the driving experience.

However, there’s still enough Aston Martin craftsmanship to stop it from feeling spartan.

The Valhalla’s journey started life as the AM-RB 003 concept, developed alongside Red Bull Racing as a road-going expression of Aston’s Formula 1 know-how.

Limited to just 999 cars globally and priced at around $1 million before options, it was never meant to be common.

With the Valhalla set to headline the new James Bond video game, 007 First Light, later this year, it’s about to step firmly into the public spotlight.
