This historic abandoned Mercedes 300D was found tucked away in the depths of a factory, but after being rescued, its first wash in a decade completely transformed it back into its prime.

The Mercedes 300D is one of those old posh cars that you’d see leaving tire marks down the long graveled driveways in Bridgerton or like-minded UK royalty dramas.

But they’re quite an endangered species in the 21st century, often eclipsed by Bentley and Rolls-Royce, especially in the US.

Still, this detailing team was alerted to one abandoned Merc in a factory, and they wasted no time in bringing the dusty banger back to life.

With millions of abandoned cars never seeing the light of day again, there’s something quite heartwarming about seeing one classic ride getting a dust-down and restoration.

Whether it’s old Fords shaking off decades of dirt or a Lamborghini Countach being brought into the modern-day supercar conversation, it is nice to see a new shine on their faces.

WD Detailing are legends when it comes to this, and it seems they’ve got the bug for German cars after recently saving one of the ‘rarest Mercedes’ ever after 60 years in a basement.

Now, they’ve rescued an abandoned Mercedes 300D, and instantly got cracking to revive it.

After finding the 1960s car in the garage of an abandoned factory, they climbed over debris to access its coffin and yanked it onto some wheel dollies, then began dragging it out.

Dubbed ‘the heaviest car’ that they’ve dealt with, the 20-foot car was hoisted home with great struggle, but once back in the workshop, it was a straightforward clean-up.

The detailing job began with the wheels before they attacked the thick layers of dust off the body with a powerwash.

Talk about satisfying, the dirt slid off like it was a shaking dog trying to dry off.

They even went to town on the engine, cleaning it up so that they could investigate its power later.

After layers of soap, clay, and wax were all worked into the grooves of the exterior, they quickly blasted down the seats and carpets for a full makeover.

The detailing can be seen here.

The abandoned Mercedes 300D was delighted with its new look and even purred into life for the detailing crew, which would have been music to its owner’s ears.

Now, it can go back to celebrity chauffeurs and posing outside of rustic mansions, living its best life just like the 1982 Collector’s Edition Corvette that they previously did.
