America has accepted Qatar’s gifted Boeing 747 private jet to use as the latest Air Force One aircraft.

The jet is a welcome addition to the country’s presidential air fleet.

The new plane reportedly carries a hefty price tag, though.

Furthermore, this VIP Boeing will require adjustments to ensure the President’s safety.

The US President needs to be transported from place to place safely and in style.

That’s why for decades the POTUS has had his own plane.

The first-ever US Air Force One that flew President Eisenhower in the 1950s was an aircraft of sheer beauty, arguably ahead of its time.

But the US Commander in Chief’s flashy transport isn’t just restricted to the sky.

In fact, the $1.5M vehicle the US President is driven around in is known as ‘The Beast’.

Now, a new form of transportation has been gifted to Donald Trump by the government of Qatar, and it is truly a thing of beauty.

“The secretary of defense has accepted a Boeing 747 from Qatar in accordance with all federal rules and regulations,” stated Sean Parnell, Chief Pentagon spokesman.

Of course, it will need to be modified in a number of ways before President Trump gets on board.

The Boeing 747 is a well-known aircraft all over the globe, but this is no ordinary 747, and it reportedly comes with a $400m price tag.

Modifications that the plane would need to undergo before being put to use could include more security systems to protect the government figure.

Plus the option to give the plane a fuel boost whilst airborne, which could prove to be very useful in a tight spot.

According to aircraft manufacturer Boeing, the current Air Force One is a 747-200.

“When the 747-8 takes flight as the next Air Force One, Boeing airplanes will mark more than half a century of presidential service through the Jet Age,” the company said.

Boeing has been transporting the US president for many years, with the tradition set to continue with the 747-8 thanks to the Qatari gift.

In addition, the POTUS also has a helicopter known as Marine One, which also boasts advanced defence systems.

It’s quite a fleet, but you can’t put a price on safety and comfort.
