Area 51: What you need to know
If you’re a fan of space or aviation, then you’re likely to have heard about Area 51.
The name is a nickname for a United States Air Force base in the Nevada Desert at Groom Lake, which is 135km north of Las Vegas.

What really goes on there, you ask?
Well, we don’t really know what happens behind the gates, with strict laws prohibiting people from entering.
However, new exciting footage has been released, and after watching, you won’t be able to believe your eyes.
The latest sighting
Creator Uncanny Expeditions, aka Anders Otteson, captured the footage while camping near the front gate at Area 51 and described the aircraft sighting as a ‘mystery Dorito-shaped aircraft’.

“I noticed some bright lights right over the ridge,” he said, but things get more suspicious by the second.
Now, we should note here that this isn’t the first instance of this happening, with a very similar sighting occurring in 2014.

Na-cho average Dorito sighting
Now, even though a B-2 plane was also spotted flying before the sighting, which was later confirmed by another spotter, the Dorito plane was different.
The silhouette didn’t match up to that on the thermal camera of the other plane, and some unusual radio activity was captured that night.
Code names that consisted of food-related language were used to keep the activity under wraps, raising the question of other encrypted channels also being used for the Dorito.
The footage has gone viral, with many aviation enthusiasts speculating that it could be a top secret vehicle.
A military test flight is also an option, with Area 51 known to conduct them regularly.
Sadly, nothing has been confirmed, so we’ll let our imagination do the talking.
