At the heart of the British countryside, Aston Martin’s supercar factory offers a rare glimpse into a world where handcrafted luxury meets meticulous engineering.

With a license to thrill thanks to a close relationship with His Majesty’s Service’s finest agent, Aston Martin’s reputation has preceded its small hometown of Gaydon, Warwickshire in the UK.

As the supporting role in a multi-billion-dollar Hollywood franchise, the carmaker has mastered the art of making supercars with both speed and opulent comfort in mind.

But you don’t need to be a spy to peek inside Aston Martin HQ.

Inside the Aston Martin supercar factory

Aston Martin is set for a massive year with the release of its upcoming Valhalla range, but there’s more than just an assembly point that brings these iconic supercars to life.

The Gaydon, UK, facility has been the home of Aston Martin for 22 years after moving in 2003.

Situated on the same land as Jaguar Land Rover, the factory is a massive 55 acres in size.

Previously, the company was housed at a place called Henniker Mews in Kensington, where it had operated since 1915, although the first car wasn’t produced until much later as Co-Founder Lionel Martin was drafted into the British Army for the First World War.

They also had a facility in Newport, Wales, which has now been turned into the home of Aston Martin Works, the classic car department.

Over the years, the Gaydon factory has supported the release of the DB9 Volante, the Valkyrie, and the upcoming Valhalla.

Handcrafted luxury

While the classic range – which includes the James Bond Goldfinger DB5 throwback and Pierce Brosnan’s Die Another Day Vanquish – has stayed in Wales, the modern cars are now all produced with meticulous care in Gaydon.

The supercar factory has primed itself as the leader in handcrafted luxury.

Each Aston Martin supercar takes more than ‘200 hours of manpower,’ with an impressive quarter of that being spent painting.

Over 100 operators patrol the shop floor, which is eight times as many as the likes of Bugatti.

The company also has another UK plant at the AMR Technology Campus at Silverstone, where they create the Formula 1 cars.

With this year’s outfit being a celebration of its 007 roots, the F1 craftmanship is separate from the main brand, even if its racing stars helped to craft the Valhalla.
