Boeing needs to watch its back as there’s a new plane on the block, and the blended-wing body aircraft is coming for the company with the name the ‘Boeing killer’.

You would think all the different types of useable planes would have been developed by now. But this blended-wing body aircraft has a new, unique shape which might change the face of aviation as we know it.

The flat, triangular Natilus Horizon plane is coming hot on the heels of the company’s blended-wing cargo plane, but this one is a passenger plane.

It’s still very early in development when it comes to the Horizon, but here’s everything we know about the widest and flattest plane we’ve ever seen.

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s the ‘Boeing-killer’!

Passenger planes have done a pretty good job of transporting travelers from A to B over many decades.

But some aviation companies have started working on a new type of plane. One that’s meant to be better than the ones we’re used to – and Boeing has the right to be worried.

The blended-wing body aircraft is meant to be better in many ways. It increases lift, decreases drag, and maximizes interior space, which means it can fit more passengers.

Companies have gotten close to designing the perfect blended-wing aircraft, but up until now there’s not been one that’s viable.

The aviation company JetZero has big plans to release the first ever blended-wing plane in 2027.

That, though, means Natilus will probably take the silver medal in this particular airspace race.

But it doesn’t mean their passenger plane version, Horizon, won’t change the world of aviation as we know it.

The blended-wing body plane will dominate the skies

Aviation company Natilus made headlines recently when it was announced that it was looking for a place to start building a brand new blended wing body aircraft factory in the US.

The Horizon will allegedly be compact enough that it uses 25 percent less fuel than a tube-shaped aircraft. But it’ll still carry up to 200 people.

The aircraft will have 40 percent more interior volume than any other aircraft, with half the running costs of a conventional craft.

Hence the ‘Boeing killer’ nickname.

Pretty cool if you ask us. But it doesn’t look like this plane is going to be here any time soon – the aviation company has released little information on the plane’s development.

All we know is that the ‘Boeing killer’ Horizon is on the horizon. We can’t wait to see it revolutionize the aviation industry as we know it.
