The Airbus A380 is a huge aircraft, and down under in Australia, you can get up close and personal with one on the road.
At one airport in Sydney, there is a bridge used by airplanes that cars can pass underneath at the same time.
The bridge and the Airbus that glided across it caught the attention of aviation lovers online.
But it turns out that some drivers simply refuse to drive under it at all.

In Australia, you can see an Airbus’ belly from the comfort of your car
The Airbus A380 is a popular airplane, but it turns out that in some places, you can see one up close without hopping on board.
After a video surfaced online of the jet passing over a bridge near Sydney Airport, it sparked conversation.

You see, the bridge has cars passing under it at the same time as jets rolling across to the runway, and from afar, it almost mimics an optical illusion.
Taking to Reddit, one user shared the discovery.
“Amazing that this bridge was built before A380s existed… but my DAD still wouldn’t drive under it when one rolls over,” they stated.
But thanks to both modes of transport appearing to be in super close proximity, some drivers didn’t seem to be fans of the design.
Others, though, couldn’t get enough.

“I mean the bridge likely has a far higher load rating than the A380, elsewise, it wouldn’t be allowed,” said one user. [sic]
“It’s Sydney Airport – always great when a plane is going over as you’re going down under,” said another.
“I taxi the 747 over these bridges, and I sympathize with your Dad. Tell him from me it’s just as unnerving for us,” added a third.
The Airbus A380: here’s what you need to know
Well, it turns out that the vast airplane actually holds a rather special title.
It’s the largest passenger plane ever built and can carry 850 people solely in economy thanks to its double-decker feature.
Despite the size, the engines are quiet thanks to ‘noise and emissions-reduction technologies’, with it first flying onto the scene in 2007.
The Airbus A380 has a wingspan of 79.8 meters and comes in at 24 meters high and 73 meters long, with 251 editions delivered to 14 customers across the globe.
The aircraft also has a range of 8,000 nautical miles, so it’s no wonder that it is often chosen to fly extremely long-haul flights.
It’s no secret that the aircraft is huge, but we’re not sure we’d like driving under that bridge, either
That said, it would be a great chance to see an A380 up close from the outside.
