This man may well have secured himself ‘Dad of the year’ when he commissioned a one-off Bugatti Mistral ‘Caroline’ as a tribute for his daughter.

Made through the brand’s Sur Mesure program, this one-of-one Mistral is shaped around its ‘delicacy and grace’.

Taking inspiration from the lavender fields of Provence and the gardens of Paris, the finished product certainly fits the bill of ‘delicacy and grace’.

But is there more to this car than a pretty name and sophisticated aesthetic?

This Bugatti Mistral ‘Caroline’ is a really special car – in more ways than one

The Mistral was intended as a swan song to the W16 engine, as the brand transitioned to a V16-powered Tourbillon.

That alone sets this car apart as something particularly special in Bugatti’s line-up.

And even with that in mind, the Caroline manages to be even more noteworthy.

Customized through the Sur Mesure program, the car was created across the brand’s bases in Moselheim and Berlin.

Fine leather and carbon fiber were brought in to fulfil this father’s request for a touching tribute.

At first glance, this car’s paintwork fits the bill of lavender inspired, but there’s more to it than that – in certain lights, the paint work can go from blue to red hues.

And to top it all off, the name ‘Caroline’ is inscribed at the rear, surrounded by a hand-painted assortment of flowers, autoevolution reported.

The flora themes continue on the inside, with hand-stitching on each of the headrests.

We would say this car embodies ‘Flower Power’, but it’s too classy for that kind of moniker.

A car with sentimental value means a whole lot more

When you hear Hendrik Malinowski, the managing director of Bugatti, speak about this car, you’d get a real sense for the care and precision that went into this project.

“The car is of remarkable beauty and individuality – one that reflects Bugatti’s heritage of savoir-faire and innovation, and the unique story and graceful taste of its owner,” he said.

Even the images that accompany the car give off the air of a perfume commercial, but we’re all for it.

And the fact that this Mistral is a tribute from a father to his daughter makes it even more significant.

Online commenters were certainly impressed.

“Whoever Caroline is, you are lucky,” one YouTube commenter wrote.

“You guys are making a grown man desire a beautiful flower car that he can’t afford,” another lamented.

“This is the best Bugatti in existence. No one will top this,” one person declared.

That’s certainly a big statement – and there’s a lot of competition for that title.

There was the FKP Hommage, heralded online as the ‘ultimate exclusive hypercar’.

And who could forget this one-off special edition version of the Veyron?
