The latest in the special one-off series to come from the Molshiem factory has been revealed as the FKP Hommage, a special recreation of the iconic Bugatti Veyron.

Bugatti has been making a huge effort to assert itself as the leader in luxury hypercars, creating one-off legacy vehicles that pay homage to its rich history.

Slated as Programme Solitaire, the famed French manufacturers are quickly becoming the Rolls-Royce of the hypercar space, and now the latest masterpiece is here.

The FKP Hommage has been unveiled, and Bugatti has knocked this Veyron upgrade out of the park.

Bugatti unveils one-off F.K.P. Hommage – a Veyron throwback

Teased earlier this month, Bugatti fans have been waiting with nervous anticipation for the latest one-off creation in the series.

Hot off the back of the Brouillard – a W16 beast inspired by Jean Bugatti’s favorite horse – Project Solitaire has been hinting that its next instalment would be inspired by the Veyron.

Now, the FKP Hommage is here, and it’s clear to see where it got its looks from.

The Veyron looks, with its signature horseshoe front grille, are visible for all to see, but the evolution of this car is clear.

A Bugatti icon medley coming together in a Veyron-like look

It sits lower, wider, and comfier on bigger wheels, and has much more muscle in its back-end, compared to the original 2005 design. Instead, the smoothness of the bodywork lets the F.K.P glide, and takes out any creased imperfections from the Veyron.

Using the Mistral body and its 1,578hp engine, the iconic black and red livery honors the legendary vehicle that reigned supreme as the fastest car in the world for years.

Named after Ferdinand Karl Piëch – the VW Group chairman who masterminded the Veyron itself – the wild creation was built to honor the hypercar’s 20th anniversary.

“Prof. Dr. Ferdinand Karl Piëch was a man who saw the impossible not as a roadblock but as a challenge,” Managing Director Hendrik Malinowski said.

“His vision for Bugatti was absolute: 1,000hp, 400kmh top speed, all-wheel drive, and refined enough to arrive at the opera in a tuxedo or a ball gown.

Decked out with more luxury than a Rolls-Royce

Inside, the manufacturers have gotten experimental, moving away from the usual themes spotted in the Mistral and Chiron, with a circular and Bauhaus steering wheel that no other Bugatti has sported.

The dashboard is also lined with an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Tourbillon timepiece, integrated by the request of the future owner of this beautiful utopian gem.

With inspiration from Ettore Bugatti’s eight-lined cylinders, the octagonal watch sits within an island finished in engine-turned polish.

A price has not been revealed, but it’s estimated that the mystery owner could be $20M lighter than they were before.

“The FKP Hommage celebrates this uncompromising pursuit of excellence, combining the timeless proportions of the original Veyron with two decades of engineering evolution,” Malinowski added.
