The previously elusive ‘Zora’ hypercar from Chevrolet is here, and the brand new Corvette ZR1X hybrid hypercar boasts a phenomenal 1250HP and an unreal 0-60 time.

The Corvette ZR1 has proven to be a popular choice for American supercar lovers.

But seeing how successful it was, we’ve all been left wondering what’s left in the tank over at Chevy HQ, and how far it can push this staple series?

Well, X marks the spot, as the Corvette ZR1X is everything that we loved and more.

Corvette grabbed us all with the ZR1 – some more than others, admittedly – combining a sassy and aggressive look with on-track performances that became record setters in five tracks within a few weeks.

But now Chevrolet is back and faster than ever with the Corvette ZR1X.

Having decided against the name Zora – a tip of the hat to Russian-born Corvette patriarch Zora Arkus-Duntov – the X suffix proves that this latest supercar is a build-on of the ZR1 rather than a standalone creation.

Chevy is dubbing it as ‘America’s Hypercar’, and the wild creation appears to be hitting all of the right notes.

Mounting an electric motor in the front gives the X-traordinary supercar a boost of 186HP – now up to 1,250HP – and continues to make it much quicker.

With influence from the E-Ray in its hybrid performance, the ZR1X also uses the new Alcon carbon fiber brakes to combat the extra weight of a motor, although the added pounds are barely felt.

Together, the car is scarily quick.

Chevrolet claims that it can rocket from 0-60MPH in less than two seconds, and its quarter-mile drag time is sub-nine seconds.

That’s up there with the likes of the McLaren W1 and Ferrari F80.

But at a fraction of the price.

It’s expected that the Corvette ZR1X will start around $250,000, which is one-sixteenth of the F80 that it can match in speed.

The upgraded interior for Chevrolet’s fleet is also on fine display in the new supercar, adding that little bit more substance to an already great car.

Now, we’re just waiting with bated breath until it can be slapped around the Nürburgring and break its own record.
