Deep in the depths of the south suburbs of Chicago, an abandoned auto repair shop was hiding one of the most famous cars ever made – the Chevy Corvette.

Among rubble and other leftover auto accessories, one YouTuber found one of America’s greats hidden, begging to be saved.

Considering the surroundings, the Corvette was in solid condition.

However, the winning element was hidden from view, and the secret shocked the explorer to the core.

This abandoned car dealership is a car lover’s paradise

America is a car-loving country, and thanks to the high demand for vehicles, dealerships are not an unusual sight in towns to cater to residents and their needs.

However, over time, some of these sites have been abandoned, with their contents simplt left behind.

This is where FoMoCoPower’s Garage comes in.

The gearhead explored one derelict building in Chicago and was faced with car parts as far as the eye could see.

From spark plugs to radios and alarm parts to a BMX bike, the building was full of parts that could potentially still be used if cleaned up and inspected properly.

But the winning find was a Chevy Corvette.

“That is a 1975 Corvette; it’s been on this lift since 1976,” he said as he stumbled upon the monumental find.

The Chevy Corvette had an astonishing hidden element

While finding a Corvette in the first place was surprising enough, it turned out that the iconic auto only had 1,000 original miles on the odometer.

How could that have happened, you ask?

Well, it turns out that the dealership’s owner bought it for his wife, but she was unimpressed with the original tangerine exterior shell.

“It was originally orange, she hated the color, so he painted it white for her, and she still didn’t like it,” the creator explained.

We know, we can’t imagine being gifted a Corvette and not falling in love, either.

As the creator spent more time in the building, subsequent winning factors, such as the chassis being in great condition, appeared.

The Chevy Corvette also had original plug wires, tires, and shocks – it really was a sight to behold.

Talk about a remarkable find – this car truly was every car fan’s dream snap up.

The owner’s son took over the building and is actually looking to sell the Chevy, but no price was disclosed, so we suggest contacting the creator if you would like to discuss this further.
