This is what happened when a Chinese Lexus clone took on a real Lexus in a suspension test.

If you’ve spent a lot of time online, you’ll have no doubt seen Chinese imitation vehicles going up against the cars they’re based on.

These tests are especially popular now, given just how many Chinese copycat cars there are out there.

Supercar Blondie’s Sergi and Nate took this Chinese Lexus out on a suspension test to see what it was capable of and how it measured up to the genuine car.

How this Chinese Lexus clone fared during a suspension test

When it comes to a suspension test, what better way to draw a comparison than by driving over speed bumps?

The real Lexus was first to go over the speed bumps, and it did so with ease.

It provided quite a contrast for the Chinese fake that followed afterwards, which violently ricocheted as it drove over them.

The view was even more stark from the inside.

Interior cameras showed both drivers as they ploughed over the bumps.

In the real Lexus, there were bumps, but it almost felt coordinated.

There was no chance of downplaying what happened in the Chinese Lexus.

“Did you feel something?” driver Nathan Bain asked sarcastically.

It looked as if he had been placed inside a shopping cart and thrown down a flight of stairs, as he grimaced with every bump.

In fact, he was even left reaching up to feel his jaw, as if he’d gritted his teeth too hard during the test.

This test goes a long way to illustrating the differences between these two vehicles.

There were more glaringly obvious differences

Believe it or not, this isn’t the first time that the Supercar Blondie team has tested out the Chinese Lexus, which admittedly came with ‘one glaringly obvious difference’.

The guys previously put the fake Lexus into a handling test, where the results were surprisingly close.

But it doesn’t end with the Lexus.

Oh no, there’s a whole world of imitation cars out there.

Remember the Chinese RAM EV that we got to tow a real RAM truck?

While these imitations are often surprising in their performance, they very rarely measure up to the real deal.
