You can’t help but smile when you hear the laugh of disbelief from a British couple who booked an economy flight from London to Singapore, but ended up in a $20,000 flying apartment.
British pensioner Prill Brewin shared a viral video on TikTok of their seats on an Etihad flight from London Heathrow to Singapore, along with her husband Peter Brewin and they couldn’t believe their luck.
The thing is, the couple were never meant to be on the Etihad flight, they’d booked economy on a British Airways plane to Singapore, but due to a very last-minute plane failure, they were upgraded.
The couple wasn’t just upgraded, they were upgraded to the Etihad Residence – a $20,000 flying apartment, pretty much the peak experience in commercial flight.

Imagine booking economy but flying in a $20,000 flying apartment
A lot of the time, when you see very rich people living a luxury lifestyle, it feels just par for the course. But there’s nothing that compares with seeing people who weren’t expecting that experience smiling through it.
That’s what happened to British pensioners Peter and Prill Brewin, who booked two economy seats on a flight with British Airways from London Heathrow to Singapore, but experienced a last-minute plane failure.
Instead of not being able to go to Singapore, the couple got upgraded to two seats on an Etihad Airways flight. However, when they saw their seats, better described as a $20,000 flying apartment, their minds were blown.
@prillybrewin #etihad So….we were the luckiest people. British Airways had a very last minute plane failure, and we got transferred to Etihad…. ..and then this happened !!! We got upgraded to the Residence. Thank you so much Etihad for a truly wonderful experience. Our own sitting , and shower room, just incredible! #traveltiktok #travel #room, bedroomflying #luxury #lucky #britishairways ♬ original sound – PrillyBrewin
Prill and Peter are the ‘luckiest people’
Prill shared a TikTok to her page showing her tour of the Residence, which is the name of their $20,000 seats on the Etihad Airways flight.
The Residence includes a seating area with a sofa for two, a giant television, and a butler who delivers your food on china plates under classy silver cloches.
If you want to have a nap? No problem, you have a whole bedroom with a double bed to sleep in.
Want to freshen up? There’s no awkward standing in the way of the flight attendants while you line up, you get your own luxury bathroom complete with a shower that comes with high-quality skin and hair care products.

When they said it’s about the journey and not the destination, this plane experience will have you never wanting to arrive!
Prill’s laugh of disbelief and joy really says it all and in the video, you could see her husband making himself comfortable in living room of the $20,000 flying apartment.
Accompanying her video, Prill wrote in the caption that they ‘were the luckiest people’, but one thing’s for sure, this kind of style and elegance suits them.
We’re kind of hoping for another last-minute disaster next time we fly, and maybe we’ll get to experience the sort of once-in-a-lifetime luck that this couple got…
