A British YouTuber bought an Aston Martin DB9 on the cheap because it had what was described as ‘minor crash damage.’
However, closer inspection of the supercar revealed much more than Saving Salvage bargained for.
The plan is to fix the car up and take it down to Aston Martin for an entire sales inspection.
The YouTuber’s question, though, is whether he can fix it for a fraction of the cost of purchasing a fully working DB9.

The Aston Martin DB9 is still in working order
Although it is in appalling condition externally and mechanically, this Aston Martin appears to have survived quite well.
Saving Salvage successfully manages to drive the supercar off the trailer on which it is delivered.
However, the real trouble starts when the YouTuber climbs into the car.
The interior is absolutely covered in mold everywhere: on the steering wheel, shifter, and seats.
Of course, because of all that mold, the car has a horrible smell.
Saving Salvage must put on protective gloves, goggles, and a face mask to breathe correctly and avoid touching the nastiness in the cabin.
The YouTuber admits that the car wasn’t in this condition when he bid on it.
Had he seen the mold, he would not have bought it.
The restoration is looking more challenging than the YouTuber first thought
Thanks to the moldy interior, the restoration of the DB9 has taken on another level.
However, the positives are that the Aston Martin starts and runs, and it still sounds like a perfectly healthy sports car.
Much of the DB9’s repairs will concentrate on the outside.
Externally, the left-hand side of the DB9 is badly beaten up. The door and rear quarter panel have taken considerable knocking.

Above that, the roof buckles, and we can see it bending inwards from the cabin.
Saving Salvage is able to secure a new door panel, and thankfully, it fits nearly perfectly.
The most significant issues will be correcting the paintwork and ensuring it matches the chrome trim on the DB9.
Saving Salvage should post further updates on the DB9 as he continues to get it back on the road.
This battered sports car has a lot of potential, though.
